Tasting Note

The 2022 Pinot Noir Clos Saint Landelin was picked on the plateau of the Grand Cru Vorbourg, from vines planted in 1999 at high density, with Burgundian genetics. The wine looks unusually dark, and the nose is still a little shy. Aromatic glimpses of both dark and red fruits of the forest peek through, alongside that notion of iron oxide again. The palate is so smooth and so fresh, flowing with already beautifully joined-up tannins—very fine, flowing and gentle. This is beautifully captured, showing the ripeness of the vintage in the suppleness of the tannins and nuanced forest fruit that references wild blueberry with all its aromatic freshness. There’s lovely density, understatement and length. Drink from 2026 - 2040. Reviewed by Vinous in May 2024
