It’s hard to tear yourself away from the haunting, dark nose of this pinot noir that proves Alsace can scale the peaks with this grape variety. Great red fruit and dry forest floor aromas plus a touch of licorice are married to an enveloping richness that masks the huge tannin structure. Then mineral freshness drives the crescendo finish that doesn’t want to stop. From biodynamically grown grapes. Matured in 500-liter barrels of which only about 20% were new. Drinkable now from 2025-2055
