Chateau d’Yquem, Y d’Yquem Bordeaux Blanc 1964 (OWC of 1, Ex-Chateau)

Golden, with orange hues like a ripe Sauternes. Intense bouquet, here too it goes on like a mild Sauternes, but you can feel the fine, but very elegant sweetness in the first nose, dried orange peel, a hint of acetone, white, cut mushrooms, delicate straw notes. Aromatic palate, well supportive (and also preserved acidity), soft in the extract, again a suitable trace of wonderful sweetness. Surely also benefited from the fact that there was no Yquem in this vintage, because the entire harvest was outclassed. Tasted and rated 19/20 by Rene Gabriel.
