Les Échaudées from Domaine Rousseaux-Batteux is Adrien''s only cuvée that is not classified as Grand Cru. It is also the only one not from the Montagne de Reims, as this Échaudées parcel is located in the village of Celles-lès-Condé, another Grand Cru village, in the Surmelin Valley, a tributary of the Marne River. The vines were planted in the early 1980s by Adrien''s father, on a plot of just 50 ares (0.5 hectares). This Blanc de Noirs made from Pinot Meunier grapes is not legally a vintage Champagne, but all the grapes come from the 2021 harvest. Vinification and aging take place entirely in oak barrels. Disgorgement is in February 2024, with an Extra Brut dosage (around 3-4g/L).
