Chateau de la Maltroye, Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Blanc La Dent de Chien 2023

Smoky aromas of Granny Smith apples, white flower, spice, mineral reduction and lemon zest are trimmed in just enough wood to notice. The super-sleek and overtly stony medium-bodied flavors are relatively generously proportioned in the context of what is typical for young Dent de Chien, all wrapped in a clean, dry and beautifully persistent finale. This impeccably well-balanced effort does need to develop better depth but that should simply be a matter of exercising a bit of patience. Lovely.
