Chateau de la Maltroye, Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2021

A deft if easily perceptible application of wood sets off beautifully layered and fresh aromas of white peach, floral, spice and citrus confit. The medium weight flavors are not quite as dense but they possess strikingly good intensity and definition while delivering excellent power on the hugely long, balanced and equally tightly wound finale.
