The 2017 Terra di Lavoro blossoms with a mentholated bouquet of wild blueberries and blackberries set against violet flowers, spiced citrus and cedar shavings. This has obtained beautiful balance in bottle, now supple and round with silky textures. Red and black fruits slowly saturate as a saline mineral tinge adds complexity toward the close. Fine-grained tannins frame a staining of primary concentration, while a pleasantly chewy sensation and balsamic tones linger under rosy inner florals. The 2017 is still a few years short of its drinking window, but its elegance can’t be denied. This is maturing beautifully. Drink from 2028-2038.
